Toilet Tissue Tubes?

Make mini books from empty toilet tissue tubes.
You could make scrapbooks, notebooks, recipe books, address books and the list goes on. Use your imagination!

Button Pins

Most of us have extra buttons in a container somewhere. Why not make something with some of them? I made some cute little "pig pins" with a few of mine.

Basically, you need ribbon, buttons, eyes, a pin back, and some glue. I used E6000 glue.

I found instructions here at this website.

Tissue Jar

I made this tissue jar by recycling an empty glass mayonnaise jar.
To make a tissue jar like this one, first, wash the jar thoroughly and dry completely. Dab a thin layer of flat water based paint on it and keep doing this until you have the coverage you want. Paint to the bottom of the rim threads and paint the rim separately or leave the rim on and paint it as you paint the jar. Let dry completely, then apply your graphic with a light film of glue. (you can also print them on sticker paper that has the self adhesive already on the back) Then either brush or sponge on Mod Podge. I used the gloss and completely covered the jar with the Mod Podge to give it a nice shine. I cut a round piece of felt the size of the jar bottom and glued it on the bottom. Embellish with a ribbon, raffia or whatever you like. The jar will not hold but a dozen or so tissues, maybe a few more. To load them pull up the top tissue diagonally to one corner and roll the tissues leaving the top corner sticking out. Insert in the jar and they are ready to use.

Things from Hankies

My friend, Sue sent me this website. It has some real cute ideas to use hankies for crafting. She says Dollar General has some cute little hankies two for a dollar. I just happen to have a couple sets of them that I bought before Christmas and did not use. I had forgotten that I even had those.
Here is a website with another handkerchief craft idea. You can also use the handkerchiefs to make quilts. Just use the handkerchiefs for your squares. I made my Granddaughter and Grandson pillows with the western type kerchiefs. I wish I had pictures.

Belly Button Brush

These little cuties are about as easy as it gets. To make them, take an ordinary pipe cleaner, cut it into 3 or 4 pieces, depending on how big you want your little brush. Fold one section over like a horse shoe shape and bring the 2 ends together and insert into a long bead or two or three different beads for the handle. You may use a tiny dot of glue on the beads to hold them together and on the end of the brush to hold it in the bead.

A poem I wrote for the label:

A Belly Button Brush just for you
To make your button look brand new
When your belly button needs a clean
Just use this little brush to give it a sheen
We all know that lint likes to hide
In all belly buttons far and wide
Whether you're man or woman, boy or girl
Place it in your button and give it a whirl!

Weather Buddy

These are easy to make, using strands of yarn, any kind, any color.
Fold them over in the middle, add a ring or other type hanger.
Tie
around the neck to form a little head, and braid them all together.
Tie around the bottom and trim. and and add the little eyes.
You now have a cute little weather buddy!

Wire Ribbon Crafts - Angels

These angels were basically made with a 2 to 3 inch wide wire ribbon. Cut the length, pull the wire on one edge to gather, attach a bead or small satin ball for the head, add another ribbon folded and crimped together in the center for the wings, add embellishments and that's it! (use hot glue to to hold all the parts together)

A ribbon example:

These are very easy and fun to do. You can add a pin or magnet to the back and attach to anything such as a curtain, refrigerator, or even wear it as a pin to have a cute little guardian angel. They can also be used for ornaments and gift packaging embellishments.

I found the idea for this little tea bag here.

If you prefer a paper tea bag envelope, there two nice templates here.
